Look around you- what do you see? Peace? Beauty? Safety? For those of us who have served we have often seen the opposite: destruction, pain, death & abuse of power.
And yet, even in the worst of times we do glimpse beauty. That misty early morning patrol, the hospitality of a villager or
the sacrifice of a friend.
If Christianity is true it must explain these opposites: beauty & ugliness, life & death, abuse & sacrifice.
In the Bible we read of a world made good. mankind made like God: noble, strong, creative- good. We read how we spoilt ourselves & the world by greed & pride- the bible calls this sin.
Sin didn't just corrupt us- it damaged creation itself.
God made us good - Sin made us bad. . So that's what we see: a good world spoiled, good people fallen.
Whilst that may explain what we see around us it still doesn't give us any hope. That's where we need a rescue.
Close air support, our own mortars firing, in the darkness at the RV hearing the chinook thumping in low over our heads to extract us.
None of them come close. This rescue was infinitely more audacious, more dramatic, more significant, more complete than our experience - or any war film.
God Himself. Coming into His own creation. To make peace with us, to die on the cross, paying for all our sins- and to rise again. Death could not hold Him,
the religious could not suppress Him, the Romans could not convict Him.
'It is Finished' He said- and it was.
So what? You have a choice. Ignore it & go your own way or turn and follow every Commander in Chief's Commander in Chief.
Perhaps you long for this to be true, you want to believe but think that this it is a myth or a fairytale. We say not.
More contemporary historical references than Julius Caesar, . But don't take our word for it- ...
The Bible makes the extraordinary claim that God came into the world He had made to rescue those who have rejected His right authority.

We may not have all the answers but we are always ready to give an honest response to an honest challenge.
We are not interested in 'fire and forget' religious diatribes: you are not a target and this message is more valuable than any guided missile.
